If you’re interested in life, laughter, art, travel, food and a host of other stuff like me – particularly related to joy and beauty – pull up a chair and make yourself at home. You might just have to move that newspaper. And stick the laptop on the floor. Sorry I’ll take that bra for you.

Things are pretty casual round here.

In the past I’ve worked as a journalist, a national award winning radio copywriter, a publications manager and a television arts reporter but for the last 10 years I’ve been building red moon creative into one of the leading design/communication studios in regional NSW.

Married to a farm boy, living in country Australia, I’ve also done my fair share of get down and dirty farm jobs. So have my two children. My daughter has since run away to study fashion and textiles in Sydney and my son – well he’s stuck with us for a little while yet. And despite what I tell him, 16 is very ok by me.

I love turquoise, travelling to places no-one else wants to go to, Islamic architecture, winter fires up the back with friends, getting lost in a Marrakech souk, Steve’s steel sculptures, cooking when I have some downtime, camping anytime, Turkey, exploring the Italian Riviera with old friends, painting, taking photographs, lighting lanterns, weaving words and drinks o’clock on the far south coast. I love setting a table for a weekend lunch and the grapevine that grows above it. I love eating on my lap when I’m tired. I love snuggling down as a family and watching a movie.

I hate housework and exercise.

But I do try.

A bit.

But there’s definitely room for improvement.

Over on the Facebook page, I’m armchair travelling my way around the Mediterranean, building friends and connections along the way, with hopes of maybe crossing paths when we take the blog on the road and do it for real in 2016.

It’s a big dream but as a wise friend once told me, you’ve always got to have a dream in your pocket.  That’s ours.  Hope you’ll come along for the ride. It’s lovely to have you here.
