WELCOME

Hi, I’m Margaret, a designer, a writer, a mum and a soon to be artist and traveler.

After two decades of raising children, losing four much loved parents in five years, running our own design studio and carving out a lovely life in Australia, my sculptor husband Steve and I have decided it’s time to shake the tree. So in 2016 we’re planning to head to the Mediterranean and do a full loop, starting in Algeria. As travelling artists, the plan is to create original work along the way, build some bridges and document our experiences here on the blog. There could even be a book.

Our daughter Maddy is in her final year of a Fashion and Textiles degree and our son Darcy is in his final year of school. Each in our own ways, we’re all getting ready to launch. It’s exciting and a little bit scary too.

In the meantime we’re doing our best to celebrate our here and now because let’s face it, it doesn’t matter where you are, you’re there. Look below and you’ll see some hand-picked posts that give you a feel of what we get up to. If you look in the categories (to the right) there are more.

Over on the Facebook page, I’m armchair travelling my way around the Med, building friends and connections along the way, with hopes of crossing paths when we take the blog and the business on the road for real.

It’s a big dream but as a wise friend once told me, you’ve always got to have a dream in your pocket.  That’s ours.  Hope you’ll come along for the ride. It’s lovely to have you here.
